Traditions, music, food and racial diversity are part of what the Macondo universe is, as well as the history that makes up the years of a violent past in Colombia
This gives way to what is its chronology, which is perfectly threaded, resulting in a product that is somewhat different in its content, but not in a negative connotation for the development of the story.
