He’s smart. He’s adorable. This is Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas. His for David Zayas Jr. replaces his father in some shots, as the two look remarkably alike. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side intact. Dexter Morgan: I lived in darkness for a long time. Over the years, my eyes adjusted, until darkness became my world and I could see. Presented at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards (2007). Main ThemeWritten by Rolfe KentPerformed by Rolfe Kent. Absolutely brilliant. True to the books by Jeff Lindsay. The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter’s secret life and the brightness of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The character development is perfect, slowly bringing out the background so that we can see the development of Dexter’s sociopathic personality and his confusion of human behavior in relation to his own. Dexter is an actor in his own life; his relationships with colleagues and his personal life are well shown in the video media. The fact that he is an expert in blood spatter is a dark work, but set in the bizarre world of life in Miami is almost believable. The developers of this series should also look to the books of Andrew Vachss.
